In the last issue: Cobb house was overrun by a filming crew for the “Unfaithful”. One of the extras, Gloria – told us about a film that was having problems hiring because of “grizzly murders”! So, our heroes took on roles on the set. Once there, we met the glorious Ester who was assaulted just before a set by a stalker! He was caught. We learned there were three murders: two men and a woman; all were grizzly killed. Mark met the set photographer who was willing to show pictures of the murder scene for 5 cents. The men had their hearts torn out and strange sigils were written on their bones. Rosie saw the dead woman’s ghost and was able to infer that she knew her killer. Mark also met up with an older army budy. Stacey met the studio detective who is certain it’s all the fault of a jealous lover. Emilio discovered an ancient Babylonian mask (which he moved to his porn stash in New Mexico). Two other items: a pectoral and some jewelry were of the same age. We decided to stake out the studio for the night. Late in the night Emilio saw glowing red eyes, fading and reappearing in the hall.
The glowing red eyes drift slowly towards El Nino. The creatures with the red eyes slowly step into the light, one is a man-shaped Sphinx with a scorpion’s tail. The other is a man-beast with claws and teeth. El Nino rushes up snaps his fingers, bringing forth a thunder clap in their faces, then runs to warn the rest of the party of the monster’s presence.
There’s a scream and the night watchman is falling.
Something grabs El Nino and flies off with him after screeching loudly. He can’t quite hold on to El Nino, and despite El Nino’s sudden love of flying, he’s falling.
Rosie sees a big frog guy that spits something in her direction. The acid hits and dazes her.
The backgrounds come falling down from the ceiling, but before they can strike a night watchman, Domino pulls him out of the way, then jumps up into the air. There, she sees the monsters and the party members in the quick flash of a torch light. She sees Dynamo in trouble and calls out to warn him.
Dynamo turns and attacks a crocodile-man! He misses and nearby a light turns on.
Noh turns insubstantial and moves back into the shade.
El Nino tries to figure out where he is, then proceeds to pummel the demon. The demon lets go of him and El Nino safely tumbles onto a set and works his way towards the ground.
The demon falls to earth, incapacitated.
The set piece finally falls to the floor with a woomph.
El Nino looks about and finds a Antelope-headed man that’s sneaking up on a group of crewmen.
A jet of liquid fires out from the darkness and misses Dynamo. A giant crocodile climbs up on some crates near Stacey/Domino and heads in his direction. The scorpion-tailed sphinx man flies in. It knocks Dynamo’s hat off, barely missing her.
Stacey/Domino yells at the night watchman to get out of there, then tries to push over the stack of crates. The frog-man, in control of the rocking pile of crates, and seems confused when the rocking stops.
Mark/Dynamo fires off lighting at the frog-man, but before he can react the photographer jumps out of the shadows and snaps a picture. The magnesium flare throws off Dynamo’s aim.
Rosie/Noh tries to attack one of the demons, but doesn’t seem to notice. Noh teleports beside a guy, who screams! There’s another demon nearby, with an antelope head.
El Nino runs up and punches the flying Sphinx.
The Antelope one jumps at Noh, and goes through him into a crate full of sandbags. It turns towards Henry (the set creator) who’s running away).
The flying sphynx strikes El Nino with his tail. El Nino manages to dodge the tail strike and a green liquid strikes the nearby wall.
Dynamo gets double-teamed. The frog and crocodile both try to jump him. The frog hits him and he is dazed. The crocodile’s teeth snap shut just beneath his feet.
Dynamo/Mark blows up the frog.
The antelope man starts to run after Henry, then it grabs its face and starts flailing wildly. Stacey/Domino blinds him with a dazzle.
Rosie/Noh teleports in between Henry and the antelope demon, and attacks it, causing it to curl into a ball, and continues to curl until it becomes a little statue.
Emillio/El Nino attacks the sphinx-man, tugging on the scorpion-tail until it comes off! The tail falls away and flexes. The sphinx-man falls to the ground and keeps falling. The tail shrivels and turns to smoke.
The crocodile man disappears into the darkness.
Stacey/Domino talks briefly to the photographer and convinces him to run away.
Mark/Dynamo turns on all the lights. He sees the crocodile scamper away and calls out its location.
Rosie/Noh heads towards Mark/Dynamo’s voice.
Emillio/El Nino follows Dynamo’s advice and finds the crocodile running on all fours. El Nino strikes him several times. The Crocodile does not stop or react. El Nino blinks and he’s gone.
We return to the fallen one. He’s a little bit dazed. There are voices coming from outside.
Noh shows Domino the little metal statue that was all that left when the antilope man fell.
She asks Emilio to get some salt. He emptied all the salt shakers into a bucket and brings it back. She puts the metal sculpture into the salt.
When Mr. Weaton comes in (Drunk), Domino alights before him and says “you’re absolutely right, it was star-crossed lovers” she turns him around and pushes him towards the door. Surprisingly, he waddles out and tries to drunkenly assert his correct theory to disbelieving individuals.
The beast boy is ranting and raving about finding and killing the Jeudians. Could this thing be talking about killing Mrs. Williams.
When presented with a prop star of David; the prop catches fire and after El Nino throws the prop at him, the beastly boy catches fire and disappears.
Then Lou comes in. He pulls El Nino close. And talks to Dynamo – who warns him that investigations are on-going. Lou agrees to tell the producer that it’s not safe to come in.
Domino goes to make a phone call outside. A bubble of people forms around her. Is it safe to go inside? No!
Uncle Fargus promises to be at the gate in half-an-hour.
Mark makes the rounds looking for the crocodile man, as does Emillio
Eventually, the director—Mr. Richard Thorp, arrives. He speaks to Mark/Dynamo and agrees to stay out of his hair.
Domino keeps a spot on the Director while he’s inside the warehouse.
Rosie/Noh starts looking around to try and find something that feels like where the demons might have originated from. She goes near where the strange props were found. The mask guides her and she goes down. She fights against the urge to forget about going into the basement, and she finds a 1/2 level room with a crate leftover from the Levant props company. Someone has arranged a ritual setup with lines of sand to form a circle with little tablets of stone covered in Kuneaform. In the middle of this circle is a bowl with writing in it.
El Nino sees the stalker on the lot, knocks him unconscious and brings him back inside.
She looks around, and notices a fowl smell. She finds two hearts that have been transfixed on long metal pikes. Apart from the bowl (which keeps radiating “I’m not here…”) she sees no one. She goes to find Domino.
Domino meets up with her Uncle (calls him Mentor); so she gives him a hat and cloak and brings him into the studio. Noh meets up with them and tells her what she’s found. With Mentor’s agreement, they go to this place.
Once there, they start looking for a trapdoor. They find one. Stacey/Domino overcomes the “I’m not here” effect, Mentor tries to focus and fails. He takes an aspergillion out of a bag and uses it.
The set up includes both old items and new items marked in the same script. She’s not sure if this is a summoning or a reducing of the barrier between worlds. Domino warns the others, then lifts it. She brings it forth. As they leave, Mentor throws droplets of holy wanter on the circle. No effect. THe hearts smoke when the holy water hits them, the pins break and split down the middle.
We rejoin. Awaken the stalker. He says he has to protect the stars from the nightmares. He saw Joinal killed and believes Ester Williams will be next. His name is Robbie. He says Joe didn’t have a star. We convince him that we’re there to protect all the stars and send him off home.
El Nino finds Lou in a trailer with Ester and the director. They’re talking over whiskey about the situation. When the drinks are done, Lou takes Ester back to her trailer before going to his own. They both seem to go to bed.
While she wears a star of David, he wears a crucifix.
Rosie makes a few rag dolls, rolls the frog doll in the goo and sticks it in the salt. Searching around, El Nino finds a feather where the winged demon falls, and a twig where the scorpion’s tale shrivelled up.
Take the bowl and the Mentor to Walley. Gets photos taken of it. Agrees to allow a picture of Dynamo and Domino together as payment for pictures of the bowl as well as seeing the earlier film.
Domino asks El Nino to hide the bowl. He takes it away.
See Uncle Fargas out.
We take up watches throughout the night.

When morning comes, the crew goes back to the warehouse.
Domino rushes in as a script girl, and asks for a classical male blue mask.
Mrs. Muir shows up! Domino (as a script girl) gets a signed picture of Mrs. Muir.
Domino and Dynamo talk to the director and update him on what’s going on.
El Nino watches the crowd. He sees a lot of nervous people, but one guy is particularly nervous. When he listens in, the guy is asking lots of questions about the superheroes who were here last night. He asks different people if the superheroes were asking about the killings. He’s a camera man. El Nino trails him.
